Importance of WordPress

  WordPress . The behemoth of the world wide web. Launched in 2003 as blogging software, has grown into the content management system dominating online market share.  I personally prefer the user-interface of Shopify and its vast e-commerce capabilities, but WordPress is on top because it's totally free including it's thousands of plugins.  Written in PHP, it is a free website creation platform. It is said to be easy to use, but is incredibly feature rich. Without the use of plugins, you may be left with a basic blog site absent of customized design.  Regardless of those sentiments, the use of WordPress as a content management system to a web designer is extremely important, because when designing & delivering websites to clients, they must be granted the ability to update content themselves without the hassle of dealing with FTP and individual HTML, CSS & JS files.
